Thursday was my fourth visit to Stanmer and I was finally given a task to get on with, using the bandsaw to cut a replacement piece for a simple puzzle that kids enjoy in the museum. It was great to have something to do and not feel like a spare part.
At one point when sanding said wooden item, I was told I’d obviously be good at that, as I must spend lots of time doing my nails. Nice. Especially as said nails are in thier usual state of demolition at the minute and likely to remain that way. For ever.
I’m going to start interviews next week, collecting some thoughts from the guys on why they turn up on a Thursday morning in the freezing cold. And John has very kindly suggested I make a list of any wood working tools I need, as there are more there than they need and we could restore some for me to use. How cool is that?
