It’s been an interesting few weeks since the brushes were installed in Lisburn. I haven’t heard a peep from them, or their new friends, but hopefully they’ll still be there when I go back over next week. Where does time go?
I had the absolute delight of visiting a real live brush making factory last month, and came away having made my very own bannister brush, and acquired a nice supply of real Chinese bristle.
The next goal on the horizon is One Year On at New Designers. I’ll be in week one, 27 to 30 June and am delighted that my Brighton friends who are now completing their MDes courses will also be there. Emma Brant, Silvia Komodovya, and Hanna Mawbey will all graduate this year, and I’m looking forward to their Graduate show opening Friday 8 June in Brighton.
It’s been a good time to reflect on where my own practise is heading. Making work in the mayhem of my little flat has its limitations, and it’s hard to imagine that a whole year has already passed since my own degree show. Will I ever be that productive again!?
Meanwhile, I’m working on the presentation for One Year On and looking forward to the work being out in the world again.
